Oberhausens splendid transport connection caters for the need of both, business travellers and tourists. The tradefairs of Essen and Duesseldorf are as easily reached as a good number of tourist attractions.
Oberhausen and its close vicinity caters for diverse interests: arts, sports, animals and shopping.
For example, the Gasometer Oberhausen, an outstanding landmark of the city, hosts changing exhibitions in an impressive building.
CentrO caters for several wishes on about 100 hectare: it sports a shopping mall covering 70,000 square metres, a leasure park, a cinema centre, the König Pilsener Arena and the Metronom theatre.
SeaLife is another attraction well worth a visit. See 20,000 water dwellers in their large-scale fish-tanks and underwater worlds. If you're interested in local history you can visit the Rhineland Industrial Museum in Altenberg.
Our neighbouring cities also sport their attractions, eg. Bottrop with its AlpinCenter and the MoviePark or Gelsenkirchen with its zoo ZOOM Erlebniswelt or Duisburg with it's Country Park or the Collosseum theatre in Essen, or the Musical Starlight Express in Bochum.
